Rainy, we talked about Latvia in one of my classes today! One of the boys in my class is going to be a missionary in the Baltic region, and my teacher was like, "Where's that?" and the kid was like, "Latvia, Estonia, that area." and my teacher was like, "What, Latvia? Who in here even knows where Latvia is?" and I was like, "I do!" but it was a rhetorical question so he didn't answer me. :<

Well, yea, it's not like everyone in Latvia knows all States (not even talking about their Capitals), it's pretty much just USA altogether.

And I think it would be interesting for me to talk with that guy. I wonder if after that, he would still want to be missionary here. I don't think he really knows how we live here and that the things in newspapers and internet are far from truth. Besides, we weren't barbarians, ever, and Christianity is here since 13th century.

I don't know if I even remember all the states from memory. XD If someone asked me, "Where is Kentucky?" I would know, but there's no way I'd be able to draw a map with all the states or anything.

and he didn't really pick to go to Latvia, per se. in my church, boys sign up to go on missions, and then they're assigned an area. they go all over the world, including within the US. some countries are already largely Christian, some are Buddhist or Athiest or some other obscure religion. they go all over, because even though Mormons are Christians, we still like people being specifically Mormon.
