Having heart palpitations and it's bugging me...

I guess I've been under so much stress lately.
It feels like my body is failing me and I'm too scared to reach out to people anymore

I'm seeing my therapist on Wednesday, so hopefully I can figure out what to do...

I am hoping that whatever is wrong with my body is just stress..
I don't want to have to isolate from my friends and family for fear of them getting hurt or killed from whatever inside me is spreading

tfw a literal 14 year old has an nsfw nickname in a discord server.

like, mate, you're fourteen, you should be thinking abt studies rather than some funney haha dick joke for a nickname.

To be fair, 14 is around the time when people start discovering an interest in NSFW stuff, but at that age they often haven't yet developed the maturity to understand when it is or isn't socially acceptable. (My son is turning 13 in a few months... and he's got an emotional developmental delay... I have to admit that I'm concerned.)

Even more disappointing is that some people don't develop the necessary maturity until their mid-20s. It's so embarrassing to see a 23-year-old college senior acting like a teenager.

But I know I did, >:/ because now immaturity in people is annoying and intolerable, and I have no patience for it.

considering that we're both in a server with a lot of adults, it's. mildly concerning. i don't want them to end up being used, y'know?

thankfully a friend contacted them and gently explained why that wasn't really a good idea, so it's. sort of sorted, i hope.

mods don't do jackshit in that server though.

It's tricky when teens (especially younger teens) get into servers with mostly adults.

When I was 14-15 I took myself very seriously and I thought I was extremely mature.

I find the opposite to be true. I was a mess.
Like, I am genuinely ashamed of a good amount of the stuff I did around that age. Even IRL, I was a shitty, shitty person.

And unfortunately, due to my mental health diagnoses, some of my care team considers me a "vulnerable adult", so I guess I never truly "matured" lol

I think it's healthy for a young teen to have an "older" friend, someone who knows how they're feeling and understands and have come out of it in one piece. But when a teen is in a group of adults, I think they may not be able to relate and also they are at a higher risk of being hurt or used.

Those aren’t the same thing.

But I think it was a Minnesota thing that adults under certain care were considered "vulnerable adults".
Here in CA, that label doesn't apply to me anymore.
And when I search "vulnerable adult" the second result is a link to a MN gov site regarding abuse

we have kids as young as fourteen in that server. i don't personally get along with the main admin who's usually active due to... certain circumstances. (note: i'm not an admin in said server)

it's just really concerning to see a fifteen year old with a pretty nsfw nickname, esp in a server full of adults, and i don't want them to get taken advantage of.

got sick last night it sucked!
I had a migraine and i actually cried cause it hurt so bad plus stomachache all day I had flue seasons!!

I've also been under stress. Once this week is over though I should be back to normal. ;_;

To be honest true most kids around 12-16 don’t get that it’s not funny to talk about inappropriate things. Like talking about sex or who screwed who. Yah I know it’s not right and most people have trouble in school cause they don’t know how to act but that’s mainly their influence from their family and friends!
Yes, I might be in that age group but with the family I live with I can’t be stupid and inconsiderate about my actions I have to act older than I really am.
I got to be a kid when I was little being a teen is about learning to grow up and stop being a total jurk to everyone around you! People think I am sixteen just cause of how I look l don’t ware makeup cause i don’t want older men trying to take advantage of me. Most kids don’t even know it is happening till it’s to late to do anything about it and then there to scared to say something about it cause they thank they are going to get in trouble.
Sorry if it sounds a little rude just trying to make a point sometimes it’s not your age that makes you who you are it’s how you grew up and who your around!

Can't say I necessarily have a strict working definition for it myself. It mostly just boils down to the particular combination of worldly knowledge, lack of practical experience, social awkwardness, and immaturity that is primarily found in the teenage demographic. Not every teenager "acts like a teenager" in this sense (I didn't, for example, though I can't necessarily say my teenage years were any better, just different) and not everyone who acts like this is a teenager (as I mentioned, I've seen an uncomfortable number of 20-somethings who still act this way), but in general it's a phase that people tend to grow out of as they settle into their adult lives.
