I haven't made an event thread in a really long time and it seemed overdue.

How're yall?

It is the 4th of November and I had to finish setting all the Christmas merchandise before I was allowed to leave work today. I feel like working retail kind of ruins every holiday.

*sympathizes* It's fucking awful how they manage to do that *worked retail for a couple years*

At least our store hasn't started playing Christmas music yet. They don't really start that for another few weeks and even then they mix it with regular music until the start of December.

I think I would go feral and bite someone if I was subjected to the Salvation Army bell ringers AND Christmas music every day for two months.

it really does. i did not participate in xmas for 6 years after my last retail job and only started doing so because we have a religious person in the house now

Not being Christian, it doesn't bother me to not do anything for Christmas, but it kind of sucks that Halloween was a little ruined for me.

i can see that. halloween is a fun snacking holiday XD having to deal with snotty children and snottier adults and snot-til-you-drop management isn't exactly the best for the constitution

I had a customer get really mad at me because he wanted me to help him find a bag of candy that had Twix and KitKats in it and I told him that we didn't have that and I was pretty sure it didn't exist. He didn't believe me that they are manufactured by two different companies and so wouldn't be in the same bag...

dummy. i suppose telling him to buy one of each wasn't viable?

I dunno what he did. He told me he would just keep looking so I walked away. I am guessing eventually he either found a mix that would work without one or the other, or bought a bag of each.
