When it's parts hiding in food you aren't aware

Eating one deliberately...had a fly fly into my mouth and I almost ate it on accident once. Nope. Got it out and now my eyeball twitches when I see people talking about it, many many many years later
It's not part of what I'm used to

Merskelly Metalien 09-25-2019 02:52 AM

o_O I used to eat bugs in lollipops for Halloween. Wasn't sure if they were real or not. >.>;

Death by Mirrors 09-25-2019 03:59 AM

As far as I know they were real. I recall these lollipops being a huge hit in stores when I was a teen. Didn't know they're still sold, but with the current bug trends I suppose it makes sense.

littl3chocobo 09-25-2019 04:29 AM

there are bug trends again? XD

Merskelly Metalien 09-25-2019 11:49 AM

:D So I really ate a de-venomed scorpion and house spider, preserved in hard candy??
xD Awesome!

Burnt Rice 09-25-2019 12:40 PM

Most likely, yes. It would be quite the process to make such life like bugs to put into cheap candy I'd assume. I've always wanted to try some, but at the same time have no motivation to stick a candied bug in my mouth.

Witchchylde 09-25-2019 12:47 PM

Monetary motivation? Environmental? Nutritional?

Stabbsworth 09-25-2019 01:34 PM

i'd like to try candied bugs, but given that i have a somewhat general phobia of insects...

littl3chocobo 09-25-2019 01:36 PM

don't worry XD the insects are farmed and killed so they ought to be more or less safe

Ava 09-25-2019 06:30 PM

I have a weird phobia of dead things... D:
It's so strange!

It's one of the reasons I stopped eating meat...
The idea of eating a dead carcass freaks me out.

Even things like dead flowers or dead plants scares me.
(If they look alive, I'm okay. Like, if it's still green and colorful, fine. But dry, brown, or twisted dead plants.. NAH!)

Den 09-25-2019 06:33 PM

I'm mildly pyrophobic...I don't mind lighting kitchen matches and long-neck lighters, but anything where my fingertips might be in contact with flame is nope.

... Basically, anything that could hurt my fingertips is nope. Though I still play with my x-acto, despite having sliced my middle finger once time with it on accident.

Merskelly Metalien 09-25-2019 09:24 PM

:] I can light a match, but not by striking it. <x} I get too scared it'll heat my fingers too hotly. It won't burn me, but I just feel like it will.. >->;

mdom 09-25-2019 11:14 PM

Turning on the oven with a match is a dangerous sport <.< why can't it be electric

littl3chocobo 09-25-2019 11:18 PM

i'm afraid of glass. it's a bit twisted since i collect glass bottles with vim but if it is thin glass or broken glass or glass with a non-rounded edge i get cold and sweaty

Burnt Rice 09-26-2019 01:56 AM

Ava - Makes sense to be a bit turned off by dead things. Since living things tend to want to keep living. It is also painful for us to go through loss, so perhaps there's a subconscious link going on there.

mdom, the reason we have gas stoves is because they cook things better. Electric takes time to heat up. Which in turn makes your pots and pans take longer to heat up. Plus electric takes time to cool down. Which in turn keeps your pots and pans hot for longer, over cooking the dish.
Then again, maybe there are good electric stoves out there this day and age. But those must cost a fortune.

Merskelly Metalien 09-26-2019 12:50 PM

:] Electric is way easier to clean.
Never owned a fancy stove before tho. :/ Only seen them in the houses of the wealthy money people.

Burnt Rice 09-26-2019 04:37 PM

Are they easier? I've never had anything but electric, but the few gas ones I've seen looked to be the same difficulty to clean. Maybe if you had those fancy electric ones where the elements are built into the stove, with glass over top.

mdom 09-26-2019 06:07 PM

c'mon technology! Man walk on the moon but we still risk burning our fingers to cook chicken!!!

Kitalpha Hart 09-26-2019 08:58 PM

Last time I used an electric stove I burned my sleeve
I grew up with and use a propane stove
Which is nice during a power outage cuz then we can still have hot food
I'd say and heat but that's what the wood burning fireplace is for lol

Witchchylde 09-26-2019 09:06 PM

Why?
Why do you elude me, Rich Shoulder syrup?!

mdom 09-26-2019 09:55 PM

As for one in Galla's thread xD

Stabbsworth 09-27-2019 01:16 PM

i have plenty of rich shoulder syrup. ;)

Ava 09-29-2019 05:56 PM

We used to have a range in my old house...
I liked the range much better than those gas stoves and those ones with those curly things on them...

You know what I mean, right?

I liked the range because ti was easy to clean... and it cooled faster I think.

These old stove things are annoying! >:T

KittyBeary 10-01-2019 08:59 PM

Shoulder syrup and sprinkles XD

and lots of pasties

Stabbsworth 10-02-2019 01:54 PM

lots and lots of pasties.

the item exchange is probably going to be utterly saturated with all the clones i've gotten.

Burnt Rice 10-02-2019 05:29 PM

Y'all can always dump your pasties on me if need be. Always happy with the pasties.

Stabbsworth 10-02-2019 05:34 PM

honks softly at you.

i have. way too many.

Burnt Rice 10-02-2019 05:53 PM

I traded mine in to get some other event items. So I'm very low on pasties.

Kitalpha Hart 10-02-2019 10:39 PM

Lol I've been yeeting my spares to the exchange too lol

Burnt Rice 10-02-2019 11:59 PM

Yet them onto my chesties.

Wait... that sounds pretty bad.

Ava 10-05-2019 02:48 PM

Have you guys every heard people say "Chesticles"?
I feel like I said that a lot as a kid :P
