Though you should try and make a new outfit. Some times it just comes down to buy random items and messing with the layering > u< b

You go to the shop tab... you buy stuffs... you go to the avatar tab click the avatar button(I forget what it says) then you choose from your inventory and it's put on you.

I'm sorry that I can't explain it any better. Oh. The other thing you need to know about is when your making your avi, above the button for face items and such there should be a button called layering. That will help a whole lot in making outfits look good.
