As do I. The water is incredibly hard to get. I am at around 400 though and hope to get around 500. Maybe I should make a mule and post on there to get more though....

I barely have over 200 waters...

Only reason I have as many as I do is because of my 8-10k+ aurum nights.

My issue is because I've had homework and can't chat near as much as I can on the weekends...

There's no way we can let everyone have the same amount of time to collect; there are people who joined before you as well, who missed previous events and whatnot. We can't say, "Oh, she just joined now, let's extend it." I'm sure that if they stop the rations collecting, it's for a storyline-based reason.

Am I not allowed to slightly voice my angst that I didn't find this place in time to warrant an actual chance at all the items of this event?

I haven't had that great of a day, I forgot all about a 4-5 page paper that's due tomorrow (well today).

And this is the first site/event I've been to where the event granting won't last through the whole event.
