I'm hoping that running spybot will help my computer.

Toolwiz did not seem to help much with the slowness.

Do a disk Defragmentation. They can often help, if the slowness is not caused by something like a virus.

I did do defragmenting and registry cleaning.

There was an adwear that spybot found, but it could not remove it because I do not how to get into administrator level on our desktop.

Is there no Admin account on the PC?

I think it might have a password to get to that part, and we don't use any special setting. That means that I don't know the password. My Dad may not know it either.

if no one has ever set an admin password there shouldn't be one. you should be able to go control panel>accounts and then either set the current account to admin, or make a new one for Admin stuff.

I'll have to look because I do not remember if we set up admin level or not.
