Kale continued to laugh a bit at her efforts, taking another one and downing it before suddenly coming to a stop. He'd parked... in an actual parking place. He motioned for Blaze to get out as he stepped out himself and stretched. The whole thing seemed much less intense than one would imagine his 'scouting' to be like.

Blaze picked up a few of the pixie sticks she could reach once she got out of the car. She put most of them back in the glove box but shoved a few in on of her pockets before walking over to Kale.

Kale smiled a bit at her before walking off towards the tower-like building in the middle of the city. "The one thing we miss by staying on the floating cities in sweden is the snow." he sighed as if he regretted it. "Do you like snow?" he asked, turning to look at her once more.

"No," Blaze replied simply as she looked around.

Kale watched her and chuckled a little more, obviously he found something about her tonight amusing. Soon they reached the side of the building and finally, Kale seemed to be using some of his 'scouting' skills as he moved into the shadows and walked slower around the side. "I guess we're see how good your acrobatic skills are." he teased Blaze as he looked back at her, "Don't set off the alarm," before jumping upward and grabbing a horizontal pole sticking out the side of the building a ways above them. He swung on it a few times, adjusted his grip then hoisted himself off into the darkness. He seemed to be assuming Blaze could follow easily.

Blaze did follow, though she didn't show off quite so much as she easily pulled herself up and quickly climbed into the darkness.

Kale swung easily from pole to pole as they made their way around the building. He was clear pretty early on that he was very flexible. Finally though, they reached a ladder of sorts. Kale climbed up a bit then waited for Blaze.

Blaze was right behind Kale the entire way. Once she reached the top, she didn't even seem winded.
Default #745
The ladder went up for a very long ways. Kale was also not winded as he climbed over the banister and dropped onto a small deck at the top of the building. It was superbly windy though and colder this far up. There was a banister around the small deck, about four feet high and it seemed that the only was to reach this area was by the ladder. Kale took a deep breath and looked around, letting the bag drop from his shoulder.

Blaze glanced around as they reached the top, walking over to the edge of the banister.

Kale remained quiet for awhile. The view from the top was rather breathtaking, especially at night. The city looked like it was an island of light and the edges beyond were pitch black.

"... I lied." Kale admitted, turning to glance at Blaze with a crooked smile, "I finished scouting a couple of days ago. When you've been doing it for almost two decades, it doesn't take long to know there's nothing of use in a given area." he explained, leaning back against the border.

"Huh?" Blaze asked with a frown as she stopped looking and turned to Kale. "... Why would you do that?" She seemed a little hurt that he had lied to her.
Default #749
Kale shrugged, looking back over the city. "I guess... I wanted to show you this. But I didn't think you'd just come if I asked." he explained as if trying to work through his reasoning himself.

Blaze still looked upset. "... I don't understand," she admitted.

Kale was silent for a long moment. "I am designed to..." he paused, "be alone. I sleep all during the day and scout on my own all night. There isn't much opportunity for me to talk with others." he explained. "I didn't really miss it because I'd never really found much joy in conversing. You've met the other neonates." he chuckled a bit, "They tend to be... rather overwhelming. Especially Pepper, and she was in my birth group." he sighed a bit. "But, I like talking to you." he stated, turning to glance at Blaze again, "You're fun to be around. I wouldn't have brought anyone else up here because they'd have talked my ear off or complained of the cold or done something stupid like set the alarm off. But you're... pretty freakin' cool." he nodded in approval.

Blaze started to look a little confused near the end. She was quiet for a long moment. And then suddenly she turned around to face the view again.
