Eli first attached himself to my brother until my brother left for college and moved out. He really attached himself to me after my cat at the time died of kidney failure. He was starting to beforehand, but afterwards, he was attached. When I go away to school, or when I leave for a few hours, he gets so depressed, he makes a pile of my stuff and curls up in it. Looks for me meowing at first.
Right now, he's on the arm of the couch behind me.
I didn't sleep the night before I left for school last semester. I dozed off on the couch for an hr or so. I had my mom's cat on my chest passed out, Eli was on the arm behind my head licking my hair (he's done it for years. I groom him by "bathing" him because of his dander, brushing, etc)

I wish zeke would let me fully brush him.. he'll sit there for like 2 minutes and then decide he's finished =/

If he controlled it, Elijah would get brushed for more than 10 minutes.
He loves being brushed. If I would be combing another cat, Eli would push himself in the way and demand his turn started now. I will sit there and comb him, he'll even comb himself by rubbing his face against the brush.
He hates it when I pay attention to another cat or even person, he has to be the centre of my attention.

My fat tabby Purr loves to have her fur brushed. She'll come to me just so I'll brush her. It's a good thing since she has more fur than I've ever seen on any cat ever. I brush an entire litter's worth of fur off her almost every time I brush her, and I STILL wind up with fur-covered hands when I pet her afterwards!

hmm do you have a brush that is both over and undercoat? or is it just an top coat brush

I know zeke needs to have 2 brushes/combs cause of his coats xp

Erm... I dunno? It's the kind that has the wire bristles instead of the plastic bristles with the little things on the tips. I got it from my aunt when she had to get rid of her cat when she went into the navy.

Eli is a short haired cat, I'll comb him, get enough fur off of him for another cat sometimes, and he still sheds.

That's what I thought, but I wasn't sure. Purr is also a shorthair, and she sheds like there's no tomorrow.

Sounds like Elijah. He sheds so much it's like another kitty can be formed with his fur.

for some reason i find shorthair cats seem to shed more the longhair =/

Yeah, I get more fur off of my short haired cat than I do from my boyfriend's family's long haired cat.
