You can view the various poses items have in the item guide thread here, but to actually see them on your avatar, you'll have to buy it, yeah. I find the guide does the job for me, though.

Some of the hair combinations are absolutely amazing. You could quest forever trying to get commons, I swear.

I imagine that's what my main focus is going to be. I can tell the because of the layering on this site, there are going to be some awesome hair combos... xD Better get started on saving, I suppose. No rare items for me.
