Ever think that the mayans just didn't feel like carving an infinite calendar into stone? I could jsut as easily go pick up a calendar in a store and predict the end of the world on its last date ._.

The magnetic poles shift regardless. -Blinks.- It's scientific actually, and gradual from what I remember, it's not an instantaneous thing so there is not much to worry about on that.
