Blaze was confused for a moment before gently taking his hand off her shirt. She put her hand in his before she leaned in closer.

Kale was frowning a little, "Rest..." he barely whispered.

"I have been," Blaze reassured Kale quietly.

Kale seemed suspicious, "Always..." here.

Blaze shrugged a little, not seeing the problem. "I've been taking care of myself," she explained. "And I've gotten a lot of reading done."

Kale slowly raised an eyebrow as if to say, what reading?

After a moment, Blaze held up the tablet before putting it on the table. "I've been been thinking about trying to get a high school diploma," she explained. "Or at least be smart enough to get one. History is boring though."

Kale blinked. Then blinked again. Then just stared at Blaze for a long moment. Slowly a large smile grew on his face and he nodded slowly. Of course she was smart enough. "History's..." he paused a little, talking still hurt, "dry." he agreed.

"... You want some water?" Blaze asked.

Kale thought about that for a moment but shook his head, deciding swallowing would be too painful.

Blaze nodded a little, not sure what else to talk about. Well, something to talk about that wouldn't potentially stress him out because he couldn't do anything about it.

Kale glanced around for a moment before looking back at Blaze, "... going?" he asked quietly.

"James'," Blaze replied.

Kale paused, confused, then shrugged it off and closed his eyes once more.

So Blaze let Kale rest.

Laurel was starting to stir a little and suddenly her hand reached up and smushed Nic's face. Raven would have recognized Laurel's seemingly random gestures while sleeping.
