I think the only book that's ever made me cry was The Perks of Being a Wallflower.
It's about a boy's first year of highschool, and basically what he see's, hence the whole wallflower thing.
But the a couple of the things that always seem to make me cry are...

xD Before I start quoting the whole book, I'll post the one I was originally going to post..

xD You're probably thinking why would that make you cry? (well aside from the poem, I think it's quite the heart wrenching poem), but I think when you put things into your own perspective, and apply it to your situation(s) anything can be upsetting o.o.

Only two that I can think of:

Endgame by Nancy Garden and
The Sweet, Terrible, Glorious Year I Truly, Completely Lost It by Lisa Shanahan.

Books make me cry all the time. x.x; well.. not actually CRY CRY.. but they've given me that completely hollow feeling for like DAYS after finishing it. XP even if the traumatic occurrence is resolved.. the initial shock of the event always sticks with me forever. x.x; the last book that i remember that with is HP7 x.o;

Because of you, I'm able to feel.

Yeah, friggin' Golden Compass Trilogy. I'm usually sad when I finish a book but that one just made me feel the worst. XD

Long, long hiatus.

Definitely a couple books...One I remember off the bat was Night I had to read it back in my freshman year in high school. I don't even really remember the book anymore but I know I cried hard at that one. I know more often than not I cry at movies more than I cry at books!

Not yet. But I don't read too many books.
Questing: Locked Legends and Brave Victory. ^_^

Many books have brought me to tears, so many I can't even think of them all. The last book I read made me cry almost every other chapter once I got to the middle of the book; I'm very emotional when it comes to my OTP's.

No, I see no reason to cry while reading the kinds of books I read. You see, I mostly read fiction books so why cry over something fictional and unreal?

I forget the name, but in 3rd or 4th grade my class read a book where one of the characters drowned after falling from a vine over a creek and knocking herself out. Anyway, that one.

That sounds like the Bridge to Terabithia. I only saw the film, but... my God, I have never had *anything* break me down like that. I was... ruined... for a day when I saw that movie. I take it the book (assuming that was it) was just as bad, if not worse? Wow... and that young. Wow.

to atrophy any sense of compassion

Between supposed brothers.
