Alright, I'll work on a few basic ones.

Now, do you want them in combo's (like, words) or do you want them individually with their most common readings? I mean, I memorize the readings but I know most people memorize combos.

hmmm i think them single would be better, but i guess combos wouldn't be too bad... i would like to see what DK or some one else says on this, since i am not the only one who is going to be learning from this

Basic kanji skills would be lovely :D -abousetly clueless-
I really need to study, but i keep passing out from work and getting rather tired @.@;;

Maybe thinking of posting sticky notes on items i use with the word in romaji and with one of those brackets underneath with how you prounouce it. Think that would be a good way to study if im too tired to actually look up other things o:

Think it will be a good idea?

That sounds good. Although since pronunciation is all extremely uniform I'd suggest putting it in hiragana, and then on the back of the note in romanji perhaps? Just a thought. ^^ Or if you don't need the romanji really put kanji on the front hiragana on the back.

Anyway's, I'll come up with a list of good kanji to know. ^^

If you have an office depot around you, I do think we're having some fairly good deals on sticky notes (that may of been last week, though)

While Azrael is right that usually "minna" comes relatively early in the sentence, I've heard "konnichi wa, minna!" more often than "minna, konnichi wa!" (though I've heard both).

It doesn't really matter, no. Neither is incorrect, as "konnichi wa" is more or less an interjection rather than a complete statement.

But as I said, when used in a complete sentence, the positioning of the word will go earlier in the sentence due to the need to have it be grammatically placed.

I've heard it both ways myself. though with minna first there is always some what of a pause before saying konnichiwa. they say it to get everyones attention.. where when they say konnichiwa first.. its like they have the attention already.. but thats my experience :3

Makes sense XD There is always a slight pause after Minna when I hear it that way when I think of it. <3

Anyway, DK, which way would you prefer a kanji list? With readings or with combos/words?

I'm listening to music (in this case "God knows..." from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya) and sort of surprising myself with how much of it I understand. Some excerpts (not necessarily organized how they are in the song):

ごめんね、何も出来なくて (gomen ne, nani mo dekinakute; "I'm sorry, I couldn't do anything")

あなたは許してくれない (anata wa yurushitekurenai; "You don't forgive me")

どんなつらい世界の闇の中でさえ、きっとあなたは輝いて (donna tsurai sekai no yami no naka de sae, kitto anata wa kagayaite; roughly "no matter how painful it is in the darkness of the world, surely you shine")

やめて!嘘はあなたらしくないよ、目を見て、これからの事は話そう (yamete! uso wa anatarashikunai yo, me wo mite, kore kara no koto wa hanasou; "stop! lying isn't like you; look into my eyes and let's talk about the future" (more literally, "about the things that will happen after this"))

暗い未来だって、強くなって、運命帰られる (kurai mirai datte, tsuyoku natte, unmei kaerareru; "even though the future is dark, we can become strong and change our destiny")

あなたがいて、私がいて、ほかの人は消えてしまった (anata ga ite, watashi ga ite, hoka no hito wa kieteshimatta; "you are here, and I am here; the other people have all disappeared")

I find that breaking down songs and stuff to understand the lyrics is a good way to practice, so if anyone has any questions about how any of these phrases are structured I'd be happy to explain. コーダ先生は教えるよ!(Coda-sensei wa oshieru yo! "Coda will teach!")

(I'll post some other song lyrics that tend to jump out at me later.)
