It's a good way to think of it. I should have gone before but every time I was near there I thought I "didn't need it" so I didn't sign up.

Sort of same with me, some people recommended me but they'd always be getting emotional breaks and I wondered how much help they were actually getting, until I actually went with them on a session or two.

A good therapist is wonderful, and a bad therapist is terrible. I've seen a bad therapist so I know where you're coming from.

Hmm...I'd say they aren't bad for everyone. Lots of people have different beliefs and the ones who are bad for us might not be bad for everyone.

When we were still together, my ex went to one that I could imagine being good, but was very counter to what my ex believed, so while they might have been a good counselor, it was terrible for my ex.

She figured it out quickly enough, and stopped going. It wasn't a waste either because the horrible advice reminded her how well she was doing for herself without help.

Even if the end result was that we broke up, I'm still glad that she's doing well. We still do a few things together online, but it's not very often really.

Yes it was a very friendly breakup. I miss being close to someone but my heart belongs to someone now, and I know that was at least part of the reason I didn't try to keep her.
