Most people don't realize, but gemstones have the ability to resonate and hold energy. The most common I've seen is life energy, but I've seen gems that keeps souls safe from being destroyed, gems that contain heat or light, gems that weight or age, speed or strength. If you know what to do with a gem, you can do many many wonderful things.
I've been... enhanced with various different alien technologies, mainly controlled by these tattoos of mine. But something about this place has drained all their power. For me it's like a part of me has been cut off, the part of me that makes me special, who I am. I guess it'd be sorta like if you went somewhere and was suddenly unable to do magic. I'm honestly starting to freak out...

*pauses* you know this castle is HUGE. How is it kept clean? I mean especially given that this is a school. And a Dorm school as well. How is it not covered in dirt and dust and doodles on the bathroom stalls and such.
