i really hate group projects too. :/
luckily most of the teachers i get give the option to do it by yourself as well sooo...i don`t really have to.
last time i did was high school.

Ohhh yeah group projects, ugh. The thing I always hated the most about them in high school was 1. being paired with people I loathed (or who loathed me in return lol - I was a bit of an outcast in high school. Shocker, right?) and basically being shunned but even more 2. when everyone would just sit there like '...yeah and what are we going to do' and nobody would take charge and direct the project, nobody would brainstorm, everyone would just -sit there-. I so often would -have- to be the one to take charge so we could even get started and then people wouldn't listen to me and just do whatever they wanted anyway cos I wasn't in the popular clique with them. xD

I think group projects are only important for certain classes but I think they're ridiculous for others (in college I mean, I can understand having them for like, education majors or business majors where group work is really common in the job field anyway but otherwise -- pointless and a paaaain)

i had a case where someone in a group project plagiarized so we failed, we had to submit appeals to get our stuff graded separately. Yeah you always end up with a lazy person who coasts through :s

I've had mixed experiences actually. I be a good leader if I choose to take the role however doing so works against my personality. I hate doing so to such an extent I'd rather pick up the pieces to get a passing grade than take charge.

In creative writing all group projects actually went great! =)
In Environmental science though...we were a group of overachievers but that meant nearly everyone wanted to lead. But since all of us were nice folks there was a sort of agreement to take turns making decisions or something. But since everyone but me had a full plate of AP classes and extracurricular activities we really only discussed the project without information gathering. Only one girl actually got me information cause I was in charge of the Powerpoint and presentation. It was the day before it was due though so although it was rushed but i think i won my teacher over with the adorable artwork. I probably spent an hour just on the coverpage finding source images for finding nemo. lol

It drives me absolutely bonkers. I had a project that I had to do with 6 other people in April. SIX other people. Me and another girl wound up doing all of it because they said that they wouldn't have time to do it. Two of them were telling the truth, cause it was close to finals week, but the other two I would see wandering around occasionally, not doing a thing. It's very frustrating, because college is way more extensive than High school and the grades mean more. :/ It's so annoying.

I just always ended up doing all the work. By choice. I mean if someone really, really wanted to contribute - cool. Nine times out of ten, they didn't. No one wanted to do a blessed thing and that was perfectly fine with me. Too many cooks spoil the broth and all that.

There is a reason I chose a profession in which, for the most part, I work alone.

I wasn't a fan of group projects myself, it usually consist of I doing the work and another doing the work, the rest figuring out how they can get credited for it. My wife is currently in college so she's feeling that pressure, but I've shown her some tricks so she's in good hands.

Mmm group projects I absolutely despise them. I get the portion of the work I am given done all the time, but then another person will just not show up or the rest of the group is disorganized. This screws everyone up, and it's terrible.

When doing group work I honestly sit there, and let them tell me what to do. I am a very shy person, and have trouble speaking face to face with people one on one let alone in a group of peers. I usually get stuck with some task that I find rather uninteresting, or I look like I'm not going to contribute because I'm to afraid to speak. I honestly feel rather pitiful for not talking about the actual work that needs to get done, and instead only letting them tell me what to do and doing it. I feel like if I don't add anything that I'm not contributing properly.

I've always been this sort of submissive person that let people walk all over him, and it can get boring or become quite a hassle to say the least when working in groups. If I'm in a group that is not on task I'm to afraid to say we need to work. If I'm in a group that has one person pretty much planning everything I feel useless.

I had a biology project one time. I don't really remember the specifics, but there had to be a speech for pitching some sort of chemical in the body. We got something that helped with muscle development, and I was a junior in a class of freshmen curse lab reports failing me the first half last time. Well it should be obvious what happened. A lot of the freshmen were being troublesome, and not really working so I had to come up with the entire project by myself then come time to actually go up and present the project none of them could present the project I myself entirely made. This made me very uncomfortable because I had to break out of shy, and get it done. I moved my partners about, and tried to make them do various things to personify our work but they were all being lazy or to shy themselves. I basically at one point forced one person into position, and came up with something I thought they would find entertaining on the spot. The chemical helped with muscle development so pitched it in a manner in which I had another partner flexing their muscles beside me and making rather hilarious grunting sounds. Saying wanna get buff wanna get strong well this is the chemical you need you want this chemical you need this chemical get this chemical.

Everyone enjoyed it, and I managed to get us an 100 but I must say I felt terribly uncomfortable that day and went around teary eyed all day because of how bad I felt. I also felt rather pissed and angry at my group for not even helping make the project and come presentation time they didn't even want to help present!

It might be helpful to meet people but it was just too much of a hassle

No one ever has the same ideas, someone always comes in and tries to take the lead, and I always end up doing all of the work.

I HATED group projects... =_= Apparently my artistic creativity made me have to design everything. I wish there was an optional work on your own for a lot of the projects. D: But I suppose that's the way things work in big companies and such, so I should get used to it. Considering my field of study is very group/team oriented.

I hate group projects, mainly because I was the one always stuck with all the work and typing/designing, etc. I REALLY hate that at my new job that I have to answer people for their names at the pharmacy drive thru and the phones are horrible at picking up the sound and when you ask them their name like 3 times because the phones are shitty they get mad. Really drives me up the wall.
