So right now I'm lacking inspiration on making avatars I really like, so I'm curious what you guys do when you guys run into an avatar block in order to get rid of it. I really want to get out of this avatar block funk, but don't know how to. ;w;

Ideas, help, please? <3

I usually ask for an avatar challenge in the challenge thread. It makes me use combinations that I never would have thought of before. Sometimes it turns out kinda lame and I change it an hour later, and sometimes it turns out beautifully. Either way, it inspires me to make something new.

I.. normally don't have a lot of outfits to choose from xD But when in doubt, I go commons shopping. That almost ALWAYS gives me ideas. Even if I can't afford it just yet.

For my ideas, i just mess around in creating xD and it just like...builds up from there. So yea...x3; start with an item you like and work around it c:

I usually use an item that I haven't used in a long time or one that not many people are using and see what I can come up with. Or a color.

I just randomly put the items and then I'd go, "OH I GET IT, I WANNA DO THIS."
then all goes from there~

I always have one item that I always use in every avatar that I make. For the longest time it was my Xinnian, that dragon was always on my shoulder. So it forces me into coming up with new and exciting avatars that match with whatever item that has to be on. Now it's the Luna

And getting a new item helps because then I'm always like "What can I do with this?!" Even if it's something small it always helps.

I listen to music, mostly soundtracks from movies. I love soundtracks from movies. The best have to be these, maybe you'll like them? These also inspire me to draw and write and to brainstorm.

I just fiddle around with different designs I don't like until I'm sick of it.
Then I leave for a while.
When I come back I do it again. Rinse and repeat. xD;

@Ari - Have you gotten more inspiration yet? Or are you still stuck?

I pick one or two items and just add in stuff...with this one I started with the Burning Vigil pose I've never used and went from there!

I usually go by colors or what I have in my inventory or look up images or videos and songs to help give me inspiration.

I find that when I have issues like that I take old avies that I have made before and remake them with different colors...but for me I will add different items to them and they turn out different but the same...its weird but that usually gets the creativity going I find anyways

That's actually a really good idea, Pinky! I think I'll try that sometime.

Another fun thing to do is to pick somebody's avatar that you really like, and "twin" them either in different colors or just in your own style.
