Generally, the top, far corner (far being the avi's right). This is pretty standard positioning for a lot of people. It can be kind of hard to see on some items.

Fen does shading so fast, you might miss it even if you are watching.

She's pretty much always quick as anything. Even when she's kind of distracted. It's amazing.

Galla explained pillow shading beautifully, and yes you can. Using a website called Iaza.

You upload the image and you can use a whole slew of features to edit it, even animate it. One of them is transparency.

I... enjoy playing with shadows, I have to admit. I place them wherever I feel is appropriate for the drawing, and just do my best to get it right. I'm not so good at remembering little details like reflective light and such, but I love dipping into varying hues to add depth.
