I am a shut-in.. but even before I was, I hated them. eAe
My mom used to drag me to them all the time when I was in middle school. Whole freaking day of cheesy chickflicky crap and I'm like "where's the food, lets go home." the whole time.
And the freaking perfume everywhere... uuuugggghhh
It's like walking into a cloud of agent orange.
Almost knocks me out every time.
And the squealing. And the crying. And the assigned seats.

I mean a whole freaking day of being forced to talk to people I barely knew, with me being the only nerd of the family, it's like taking me, skinny little white girly-lookin boy who loves gaming and computers, in a cesspool of cheerleader-aspiring, shallow chicky women, and making me talk to them.
It's a lose/lose however you look at it. Dx I hardly have any self restraint so I'll say something, they'll get upset and then it'll be hell for me when I get home, because my mother will not let it goooo.

See my family is ALL nerds. Last wedding I went to was... two years ago, and it was - not joking - Starwars vs Halo themed. Groom was Master Chief, bride was Padme. It was awesome. Thought 40 nerds in one place does get a little over the top.

@meiz: Well, lol! I think that as well, I mean. I hate talking to cheecky girls, but when I'm in weddings, I tend to stick around with my dorky/nerdy cousins, stealing all the food from the table and laughing our asses off in one corner.
Luckily though, in my aunt's wedding, it's just with my whole relatives (aunt got married to a canadian and his family isn't around) so the whole wedding event was a crazy day of relatives having fun and doing crazy stuff and us wearing gowns and barongs xD

That I would pay to see. How would the cake be designed? :3

I honestly want something outdoor themed. Something.. Earthly and more spiritual. Not so many people and playing dress up. I already did the court wedding once, and that sucked all the love out of the relationship so I am not doing that again.

That I would not mind, a gathering of nerds.
But my family is what you would call "trying too hard to be stereotypically middle class" if that makes sense.
I'm on one side of the wall ( where I accept the fact that I'm weird as shit. ) where they're like.. mister and miss popularity. To them, I'm an insensitive freakoid. xDD Though they wouldn't say it to my face.
I showed up to my grandfather's funeral in a pinstriped suit and a purple cravat and black lace gloves, and everyone was shooting me sideways glances because I was dapper instead of normal. xD
Plus I got in a lot of trouble in all these things because I'm not good with people hugging me. All of these kinds of get togethers, weddings or otherwise, I have to hug all these random people, and.. well Lauv knows how it is.

Basically weddings = days that Meiz gets his ass in trouble for weeks afterward, because he is socially awkward.
