If Nic thought of anything, he didn't mention it as he continued driving the boat.

"You like hanging out with me, right?" Laurel asked, "Though that's not a hobby."

Nic nodded.

Laurel paused, she could list off a whole lot of things in her head that Nic didn't like, but not very much that he did. Besides food preferences and computer stuff she couldn't understand.

"Do you like hacking?" She asked.

Nic shrugged.

Laurel paused, "Are you happy?" she suddenly asked.

Nic paused before nodding.

That seemed to satisfy Laurel as she sat back in her seat.

As usual, Nic didn't say anything else unless Laurel spoke to him.

Laurel remained unusually quiet, just soaking in the sun around her.

When they got to the island, Nic found a place to dock the boat and started walking to the first store.

Laurel ran to catch up with him before taking his hand again, "I wonder if they have the kind I raced," she mused.

Nic shrugged, continuing to lead Laurel.

So they browsed for awhile before going to a different shop. Finally Laurel saw a bike that greatly resembled Nic's. "Hey, how about you test drive that one, and I'll test drive that one over there and we'll race?" she whispered, excited.

Nic blinked, not seeming to understand Laurel's excitement. But he shrugged, which was close enough to a yes.

So Laurel went over and started up the motorcycle she'd pointed at. Out of habit, she didn't put on a helmet.
