Birds are unpredictable, but it really depends on the interaction they get while they're young and if they get the 1-on-1 attention they need. An older bird can be trained but it is more difficult. Someone I know has a 4 month old cockatiel that she is giving to me if the new place I'm moving to allows pets. If not then I will have to find a new home for my feathered friend :c I've spent a lot of time training him. Hopefully he goes to a good family who will treat him right, as a bird should be treated. They definitely aren't for everyone, however I am very fond of them and someday will own many haha.

And yeah, there was like a feeding area where you gave them nectar, and I was just standing there and one flew over and latched onto my finger. :<

Yikes! Your poor finger! :C They can really bite hard, sometimes hard enough to bruise or draw blood if their beak isn't filed. My bird's beak is actually very sharp and he bit me a couple of times when he was first given to me because he was untame and afraid. I've been meaning to file it down a little bit or get one of those sandy/concrete perches to naturally help with it. His little nails are sharp as well.
