I don't eat much sweets but I loved the mini muffins, the pies, and the Ding Dongs. Oh now I just made myself want Ding Dongs and I doubt there are any left anywhere. Oh well, I don't need it anyway.

You know, I feel bad for future generations because they will never know what a twinkie or any of the other hostess sweets taste like or possibly what they even are. I know TONS of books that reference them and I bet someone who reads them in the future wont know what it is unless they look it up ): sadly...

I mean I never was the biggest fan of them but man I did like them a bit.

....you know what just occurred to me? that the joke 'twinkies and roaches will be the only thing left after a nuclear holocaust' will no longer be repeatable XD

I plan on buying as much Hostess items as I can afford when I get to shopping this week. ; ; I can't believe they would close down either. It's like the world is coming to a end. I know exergration. LOL But it's really saddening that this happened. ; ;

there wont be any, walmart was nearly out of all hostess snacks a few days ago as are the convenience stores and groceries, and we have a /lot/ of food places that sell the stuff

I hope me living in the middle of no where will work in my favor. People here are too good for those kinds of snacks. So I have hope there will be some. I know my local gas station has some left. They only get truckers to stop by and those guys only get gas and coffee lol.

well good luck with it dear and hope something other than twinkies and ho-hos get the go-ahead to be sold

I hate to say this, but Hostess is selling its brands off which means someone can buy twinkies (and probably the recipe too...since who else is gonna make it?) and keep on making them. Which means for awhile there may be none, but they'll come back under another company probably.

Ohh.. Strudel Cakes.. I'm going to miss those, too. >:

It's true that someone will buy the Hostess snack recipes and all that, but it's more saddening as something dear to childhoods is dying. Sure, it'll taste like a twinkie, but it won't be a twinkie, if that makes sense.

Like Little Debbie makes "Angel Fingers" or something. Looks like a twinkie, smells like one... all intents and purposes, it kind of is. But it's not Hostess.

I'm just sentimental like that.

Makes sense Dai. I'm kinda flashing to the guy from Zombieland (can't remember his name) who is searching for Twinkies the entire movie. (just as a general idea to what some people will be like now that it is discontinued)

Eh. I never really did Hostess. Always been poor. XD I love Little Debbies, and I'd kinda be upset if they went out of business, but I'd take it as a sign that I should stop eating so much junk.

And since they aren't going out of business... Junk it is! :D
I think I fell in love with the eighth world wonder. ♥

My boyfriend has this theory that they won't be gone for long because Hostess is gonna sell their recipes. :s
I doubt it, but whatever. Lol.

Tallahassee will be displeased... Any ways, alot of people are i have noticed alot of panic over this, the other companies who compete with hostess are still in business meaning the non name brand ones are still selling..

I watched Zombieland for the first time the other day with a package of twinkies to commemorate the occasion.

I feel like a fat kid with my horde of hostess cakes.
