I've never heard of making up school on the weekends before. I don't think that's possible. Sure, in elementary we had to make it up during the summer, but they can't do that for college. We don't get substitute teachers either.
That said, I don't think it's possible to get enough snow to cancel school in Utah. :C Everyone's too used to it here, except me.

They can for high school.....at least where we are from. College....definitely not. Rarely a sub....more like a professor covering another professor's class.

Yeah, high school too. It just never snowed when I was in high school. XD

Most of my classes are high level and specialized and there aren't other teachers that can teach the material. My teachers usually cancel class a few times a semester for trips to New York and stuff.

Hm, nice. I have that happen occasionally in my major, especially since they are: 1) high volume classes (more strain on the professor....gotta love having 600+ people in the major(s)), 2) lots of conferences held to attend, speak, present, etc., and 3) the weather.....unpredictable and some professors live a bit away or on a hill/mountainside.

Yeah, my teachers are gone a lot due to conferences. One time i didn't have any Anthro classes for a week because they were all at the same conference.
