You'll need a permissions plugin to start with, and i suggest PermissionsEX.

If you tell me the ranks you want (prefix before the name, colour of it etc) and the permissions you want for those ranks I can set up a basic permissions file for you.

For the New Player rank just the ability to play as if they were playing 100% vanilla. So building, mining, no special commands available... (/rules and /help should be avalable however)

For Player rank.... the ability to fly, use the /spawn and /sethome commands. Basically finding their way back to civilization commands. xD

Moderators should have the ability to ban New Players and Players. As well as teleporting commands....

Admin should have all commands available.

Otherwise I dunno, what would you Recommend?

I would need to know more about your server before I could suggest things for the ranks o-o Private for friends, or a full public affair? creative, survival, or some odd mix?

I can make the permissions based of the info you've given me, then add to it once you let me know more :P

EDIT: All right, done a basic one with all the specifications you asked for, with a tiny bit more for the mods. to send it properly I'll need to upload it somewhere or send it over something like Skype.

Just to give you and idea of what it's like, but without the proper formatting because tris doesn't do code.

My server is small, mostly friends and friends of friends.

Mostly it's peaceful survivor but we are still setting up a few things so we are currently creative for everyone but I will wanna restrict that in the future...

So with it being a semi-closed friends community you shouldn't need to bother top much with all the different anti-grief/rule breakers stuff. Ban and kick should suffice for the most part.

I could add a node so that they can switch between survival and creative, then you just remove it when needed

I wanna join! I'm currently using a hacked client but if need be I'll buy the real one since it's cheap. I am actually playing right now building a lyoko tower. Everthing that I want to build is a circle. And circles are freaking hard x___X

EDIT: I looked at your siggy Ducky and added your server. Can't join b/c of 'bad connection'

Griefing is when a player destroys or alters another players build without permission. People often jump around servers trying to see how fast they can get banned and see how much upset they can cause.
