just read that the place I was going to apply to no longer has a store front. I think this means they don't do custom cakes any more, only the cupcakes that are delivered in the food truck. ...Should I still apply?

yes, I think you should. It couldn't hurt.

The problem is, working on the custom cakes at the storefront location was the main thing I had in mind. I guess all the stuff about cake decorating still applies, though it seems much less so with a place that only does cupcakes in pre-set flavors.

indeeed, but things can always change and if you work here it can always lead to better things later. The stuff you wrote still seems good enough to me and you can always tweak it a bit if you must.

I'm not sure, but it looks like (from what I have seen on their other pages and such) it's all family. And if they no longer have a store-front, I assume everything else still gets made at-home. Which makes me a little nervous; I know they said they're looking to hire new people, but I can't help feeling like I'd be intruding somehow.

Hrrrrmmmm......I still think it might be good for you, even if you have to work with people, it's small and it might be a good chance to network, being mobile might also be advantageous as you'd get a better scope of the area and it might offer you some flexibility. Being a family establishment isn't a bad thing either, it might mean they're more willing to train you and give you one on one help if you need it.
