"Yes, yes, thank you for helping," said Russel. He offered Herbie a friendly smile, though made no move to touch him.

Herbie pinched Saya's cheek, "Always a pleasure to help a classy dame like you!"

"Go on, enough of that." Russel waved a hand at him.

Herbie snorted at him, "Well I'm off to find some fun, there's lots of fires up tonight and there ain't no sense lettin' it all go to waste!"

Russel nodded and bade him goodbye. "Interesting fellow..."

"I like him! He's charming," said Saya with a flick of her tail.

"That wasn't the first thing to come to my mind," said Russel.

Saya giggled and kissed, him, "He's not really your type is he?"

"I don't believe so, no," Russel replied with a smile. "But I suppose it could certainly be worse."

She gave him a nuzzle, "You're a good sport dear,"

Russel gave her an appreciative peck on the lips.
Nearby was the rest of the Blackwelder clan, including Arden and his family. Arden sniffed at the air, eyes reflecting a bit in the firelight. "I've always loved the sea," he remarked to Kiri.

"It is lovely," she said scooting a little closer, "You think those fish are done?" she asked pointing to a couple of skewered sea bass.

Arden eyed the fish momentarily before pulling them away from the fire for closer inspection. "They look perfect to me."

"Might want to let the one cook a bit longer though," said a pleasant voice from behind them as Wilhelm bent closer to inspect the fish.
