Because I start buying pretty things that I see while at work.

I work at a craft store. I was on the floor tonight and passing by the impulse tower baskets, while I was putting returns away, I spotted these necklaces. In total, there were 16 of them and I bought all 16 of them (plus some other things I need and was running out of for bracelet making). Now, my ruling is to not pick something up and buy it until about 8pm or 8:30pm, an hour or a half hour before we close. Why? Because it gives customers a fair chance to buy something in the store before I do. Customers come before employees do when buying stuff in the store. This also helps me with saving some money, because the ruling of mine is, "If it's still there by the time 8 or 8:30 comes around, it was meant to be". If it's not there by either of those times, then it means I wasn't meant to have it and I save money in the end, so there's kind of a happy ending to it (yay money).

I've only come up with one idea of a use for these things. I could crochet little amigurumi pieces and then glue these somehow onto the faces, making them look more "hipster"-like.

omg I do that at my work too. It's one of the things that I hate the most about working in retail. Buying so much crap I don't need cuz it's a good deal or cuz it looks cool. xD

thankfully i work in a restaurant, i can make myself whatever i want xD

Its really exhilarating at first but some times you just gotta talk your self out of it. Honestly I wait for things to go on sale, that is how I make it fair for customers who want it. So right now if they haven't bought any of the impulse stuff its fair game because its 60% off.

But some days I am debating spending money on things I really want and I have to ask myself "Do I need this? Can I afford it?" Other days I'm just like who needs food and transportation when you can have a 3 dollar canvas.

I've been getting better at talking myself out of buying things. xP

Uh oh. I applied for work at a store with lots of cute things... Now my money is in danger when I'm accepted. lol

I buy lots of stuff for my avis on gaia, solia, tris, etc.

I used to spend a lot of money on avatar sites as well but ever since I graduated college and have all my student loans, I can't afford to anymore. D:

Except it was after I moved out of my parents' that I can't afford avatar sites or other nice things. Most of my wardrobe is in fact work uniforms.

I used to have the same problem buying things at work. Some how though I am nearly immune...to all but comfort food.

im about the same with money... it lasts for about 3 days if i'm lucky

I have that problem and I don't even work in retail lol
