Oh my glob,
Last night he was sleeping and all of a sudden he jumps up and is almost screaming.
He was looking at his "leg".
And he was freaking out.
I cuddled him and he was looking around so scared.
He's doing fine now.


Also..
I think my milk is bad..
I had some this morning and honestly,
I don't know what bad milk smells or taste like.
Before it gets all chunky and sour.

No worries, mate.
I bought him a sweater today.

Sour milk just tastes nasty. It wont kill you, but you'll be able to tell when you taste it if it's gone sour, and the smell will make you wrinkle your nose.

Sounds like Kitty has a bit of phantom leg. I imagine that can happen for animals. At least, I don't see why not?

Yeah, the scan is a bit rough. Stuff in a thick sketch books doesn't usually scan as well as flat things. For some reason, it never shows that big when I open the file on my computer.

Can he still walk alright without the leg?

Oh yeah.
Never thought of that.
But when it's starting to get bad is when I don't know what it smells like.

Yes he can.
Only thing he can't to by himself just yet is poop.
He always falls over.
So when I'm here I watch him and if he falls over I help him up and hold him.

I've swallowed a mouthful of *really* sour milk before, and was fine, apart from running my tongue under the tap for a bit. (Someone left the fridge door open while we were in Florida during a heat wave. I was in a hurry and didn't check). It's really a matter of it just tasting bad. If it doesn't taste good, toss it.

Poor Kitty. I had to do a similar thing with my dog when he was nearing the end. He was just too weak and it was hard for him to stand up. The vet thinks it was probably stomach cancer (I didn't bother to get the tests done because the dog was 13 and likely would not have survived the test anyway). He deteriorated fast, over maybe a couple weeks.

Even if I did do that I think I still wouldn't notice.
I'll still drink it and go, "Ya know this doesn't taste right but it still tastes good.."
My mom will smell the milk and be like, "This milk is gong bad!"

Ah I hope he's not dying!
It's just hard for him to poop because he only has one back leg and he's not used to it yet!

Oh yeah. He'll get there. It will just take some getting used to. There will just be a new routine. My guy went deaf when we was around 8-9 (I had my little dog Monty for 13 years so I can talk about him a lot ;)) and he would get startled now and then but he got used to things pretty fast, and I adapted to taking his deafness into account (little things like tapping the end of his tail to get his attention, or adding hand signals to my speech so he learned them. He was a people watcher by nature, and I swear, he learned how to read lips...). I'm sure your cat will be just fine. :)

I've never had an animal lose a leg or anything thank goodness.
It might hurt me more then the animal.

All he does is eat, sleep, and use the bathroom it seems.

It hurt me pretty bad emotionally.
I kept thinking, "Why my baby? Why him?"
But long ago when he was littler I had decided that if anything happed to one of his limbs I'd have it amputated.
So almost as soon as the vet said that it was an option I would of grabbed it.
But there was that slight chance that his leg could of been saved so I waited to see what the vet said.
