You know, I was wondering -- if, through that processes of resurrection, the body is transformed into the "perfect physical representation of the spirit", wouldn't personality flaws be manifested as physical defects?

Not necessarily since the spirit is sort of a raw essentiality of the self which is given definition by the experiences of the mind. Only powerful souls can develop conscious minds to survive divorced from the body. Consequently, body-hopping is a terribly inefficient means of immortality unless the soul is powerful enough to just use the body as a puppet and has no need for the brain to produce consciousness.

I don't believe so... I read the Chronicles of the Necromancer, but that's as close I can recall. :P
