they reveiled some info on the first gym leader, and you have like 3 friends. (they keep giving us more and more people to bump into along the way)

one of the friends is determined on the gender you choose.

I saw a post of yours not too far back DK, so it shouldn't be too hard to dig it up again. I need to update my trainer card with Eevee on it.

Mighty sniffs around in the grass, glad the rain has stopped, and pokes his nose curiously at the puddles.
