Well, I would say "honesty is the best policy"...

Keep trying to talk to people/friends, online or otherwise, about things you like (possibly also about the bleh you seem to be currently feeling, but don't force it).

If you think that you can't really feel comfortable around him anymore...just tell him that; that you need to distance yourself from him for a while. (Yes, he could react badly to that, but honestly, he shouldn't).

As a note, he could just be saying that and not really mean anything by that. (This is not a "There's hope"...this is a "Don't burn your bridge prematurely")

This may be completely terrible advice, but it's the best I can give you.

thank you Law, I mean I really wanted to just be that friend and not make things complicated and just go with the flow but now I just feel dumb about having no expectations, I deserve some expectations...

I am hurt but then again, i'm not that interesting so i am not that surprised that he is interested in a girl who,s obviously prettier than me haha...yeah I have to work on that low self esteem...
