Lucid, I wouldn't worry too much about that as I was exactly the same before I had my little one, but I somehow still manage to remember to feed her and change her (the screaming helps) XD

I always wanted to learn German at school, but I got stuck with French... (I blame my mum for giving me a French name) I used to have a German pen pal that I met on holiday one year. We just recently found each other on Facebook again ^_^

Ah, okay then.

German's pretty high on my list of languages to learn.

I know Latin and German, but struggle with it a bit, mainly due to lack of practice. Sort of want to learn Welsh, Russian, Japanese, and a few others...

(Side note: I'd love to try to create a thread or a series of threads to practice languages. That would be cool.)

That sounds like an awesome idea Law! I only know a tiny bit of French now, but I know a fair bit of Japanese now that I could contribute... ^_^;;

i'm not a mod, but i know gibberish? LOL!

my older daughter will have Honors German 4 in the second semester of high school this year!

the younger one is wrapping up a two-marking period long language sampler - 30 days of French, German and now Spanish. she's thinking about talking French in high school.

i forget most of the Hebrew i had in high school... that was a while ago...

2. Lol, I still remember a bit of my high school French, but with anything else it's off to Google Translate. XD

oh yes, i love google translate, but older daughter says it's really not all that accurate...

It can translate words, but phrases are terrible in most translators (and endings *twitch*

Metaphorical terms, and terms that have different cultural implications, are definitely bad.
