not like i have the money to get a new PC anyway. ._.,

i need a new internet modem more.. this modem is 8 years old now and the cable company is refusing to change it out.

My router is about 15 years old.

mine barely works anymore... how the heck is yours working?!!!

My modem is about 8 years old, the router is about 15 and they work because I have a pc engineer living with me.

._. i just have 1 box.. i call it a router because it routs the net to my pc.. it could be a modem.. =w=, who knows.. its just 1 box that gives me net.. that is constantly cutting out every 30 minutes.. i have to restart the thing THAT much.. its annoying..

It shouldn't be doing that to you DK, there is something wrong with your box then. :/ We had a similar issue a few years back where me and my brother were having issues with the net, same with my mom. My dad was saying we're just using a lot of the net which is why it was doing that...until it actually died and he had to go out and buy a new one. =.=; And he's the computer scientist, makes me wonder where his head is at times. Another bit of a fight I get in with him is Internet Explorer, he thinks that FireFox is causing all the random program down laods and other issues on my computer and I go off on him because I have script blockers on my FF browser to stop that which IE doesn't you actually have to know programing and code it right to not allow those otherwise you screw up your whole browser. Not to mention it keeps popping up with crap its trying to download all the time on IE that it doesn't with my FF. He's trying to tell me the reason why my stuff doesn't work on IE or FF is because I can't have them both on the computer which is bull since the reaosn why I have the problem to begin with is because he password protects every little thing on this computer (since its his but in my room) that I can't even update my frickin browser! >.< /rant

That would be a modem, a router splits the bandwidth between many pc's.

ml - o-O i prefer firefox over everything.. opera is my second choice.. o3o I don't have any problems.. i do virus scans and disk defrags weekly.. i just have too much shiz on my pc.. that + the dying net.. xD yea..

Then your company needs to give you a new one.

they say we need to pay $100 for them to do that because the antenna is broken. =/

why should I pay THAT much for something that they're gonna scrap anyway due to it being too old...

and it's only been acting up like this since.. may of last year? not as bad as it is now but still... and the antenna has been broken since.. a year after we got it.. zeke chewed it off >.>,

Well, when we moved we couldn't use the box we had gotten just the year before, and had to pay out money to get another new one where we live now. x'D

our cable box was just as old.. it refused to turn on in the end.. cable guy showed up and was like 'wtf this thing is a dinosaur!!!!!!' xD

If you have something like citizen's advice I would go ask them.

mom and I are gonna wait for the thing to die completely and then be all

'This thing isn't WORKING AT ALL and you refuse to exchange it, we aren't gonna pay for something that doesn't work'

and then they'll either exchange it or they'll loose our services cause we'll go to someone else >.>

Citizen's advice over here basically gives us info on things and help us with it. You could also get in touch with trading standards.
