Listening to the music their playing makes Don doesn't really answer. He kind of knows why they stopped staying in contact with him, because they no longer found it fun to be with him and his tendencies to picking fights with bullies would give the company they run a bad image as well.

"Don't say that to my mom, she'll have a fit if you try to help out. If it was just me I'd let you since you seem insistent about it, but my mom most assuredly would not let you."

Vincent isn't going to push it. They just met today, so he doesn't feel like it's right for him to do that...unless it looked like it was going to drive Don into something really bad like suicide or murder. Which he seems to be a long way away from that.

He laughs a bit. "In my house, we kind of all took turns, and if there was a guest? They helped, though usually nothing major, just small things while cooking, you know? Like could you get that bowl or something...." He shrugs a bit. "I always liked cooking when I got the chance...usually it was spaghetti. Drove everyone insane that I'd cook it so much." He chuckles a bit thinking about it. He has a thing for spaghetti.

"Do you make your own sauce or do you buy the stuff in the jar? My mom gets the stuff in the jar just because its quicker and easier to do than making one from scratch." He finishes the song with a final ringing key, a faint smile touching his lips.

"Boys! Dinner is ready! Hope no one is allergic to cheese, didn't think to ask before hand!" Don's mother shouts up the stairs to them. Closing up the piano Don then help's Vincent put the guitar away for the time being.

"Guess its time to go eat then." When they get downstairs to the kitchen Don's mom had put out a plate for each of them, containing baked chicken breasts, mac n' cheese and green beans.

"Don't hold back, dig in you two." A bright smile plays across her face, she takes the head seat while Don takes his seat to the one side of him mom, leaving the other for Vincent.

"Well, it depends. Right now, money says jar. It's cheaper. If it wasn't for that, I would, at least once in awhile, make it from scratch." Scratch is tastier, but takes longer and can be way more expensive.

"Psh, cheese is my one true love." He says to himself, snorting a bit as he goes to put up the guitar. His stomach gurgles a bit at the idea of food. He just follows Don down, sitting at the other spot. "This looks really good." He smiles a bit. It's been awhile since he's had a meal like this. He lives alone so it's not always economical to buy things like this. He just start munching on the food, happy.

"Thanks, I just figured I would have to spoil Don for bringing a friend over, mac 'n cheese was his favorite as a kid."

"Mom..." He looks down at his plate, blushing a bit from it.

"Oh nothing to be embarrassed about, you were a lot like other kids that age, wanting nothing more than your mac 'n cheese for dinner." Ignoring his mom now has she giggles at his reaction he just eats his food.

"Oh! I completely forgot to ask you your name! How rude of me! You obviously know my son and can figure out who I am, so I'm wondering who you are."

Vincent chuckles a bit. "It's still one of my favorites. It has cheese." He states simply. "If it had all the nutrients I needed, I would attempt to live off of it." And he is not joking. He sees nothing to be embarrassed about. Mac and cheese is delicious...no matter what a person's age is.

"Ah, I'm Vincent, nice to meet you?" He says, smiling a bit. "And I don't consider it rude, it just didn't come up until now."

"Vincent that name sounds familiar..." Don starts choking on his food, "Don honey, you okay?" Getting up she smacks his back a few times.

"Yeah mom, I'm fine" He says hoarsely to her, "Just went down the wrong pipe." Nodding her head she goes back to her seat.

"Oh! That's where I've seen your name from! You're that Vincent! My son seems to like you a lot, I don't know what you did to make him interested in you." Smiling sweetly at Vincent she begins eating her food. Don avoiding looking at either of them, his cheeks a nice pink color.

Vincent tilts his head about at Don's mother's words. He does tense when Don starts choking. He halfway know the Heimlich if needed. "Be more careful? Don't want you to die from food." He says, looking a bit worried.

He just blinks a bit at her words. "What?" He kind of looks lost at this point, as he looks between the two. "What do you mean?" He has no clue what's going on at all.

Don avoids looking at Vincent while his mom looks at Vincent with surprise, "You mean he didn't tell you about the tuition? Huh, I thought you had done something to impress him or something about that. He didn't say anything about the payment? He-"

"Tastes like you used lemon pepper for the chicken, its really good mom. It also tastes like you might have added some garlic to it." His mother glances at him, knowing he's doing that on purpose.

"Use, I have a stuffer I used to add in some garlic, and there's bis of garlic in the mac 'n cheese as well. It was one of the tricks I used to get you to eat your veggies when you were little."

Vincent just looks between the two, looking oh so very confused. "What about tuition?" He feels even more lost if that is possible right now. "Payment?"

He frowns a bit when the topic is changed and he doesn't know what was going on at the moment. He doesn't like being left out of the loop, especially when it involves him and everything. He eats some, more just looking at Don. He will demand answers sooner or later.

Finishing his dinner Don takes his plate to the sink and washes it, then plates it in the rack to dry. His mom watchers him the whole time from the corner of her eyes, a bemused smile on her face. Finishing her meal she also takes her plate over to wash it, "Just let me know if you two get hungry later, I have some snacks you can have in the pantry." With that she leaves them both and heads to her room to do some work.

Don looks nervously over at Vincent, getting the feeling that he's going to be asking him questions now. Questions he wasn't certain he'd have answer for based on his spur of the moment actions.

Vincent finishes his off and goes over to the sink doing the same. He just nods a bit at his mother's words. "Okay, bye." Though she's not really going anywhere. He just looks over at Don, frowning a bit. "So, when were you going to tell me about this tuition thing or whatever? What's that all about?" He asks, crossing his arms. He'll give Don a chance to explain at least.

Fidgeting nervously Don tries to figure out the best way to put this without upseting Vincent, not after he just started being friends with him. Sighing he finally gives up, "Honestly I wasn't planning on telling you, because it just seemed awkward to me to even bring it up. Though obviously my mom recognized you or else she wouldn't have said anything." He avoids looking at Don, feeling like a kid caught in the candy store without their parent's permission. "You don't need to worry about you're tuition anymore, it's been...handled so to say...I really don't want to say anymore because I get the feeling you won't like what you'll hear..."

Vincent just watches him fidget, not saying anything at the moment. He's not going to help since he doesn't know what's going on either. He tilts his head as Don talks, listening to him. He narrows his eyes a bit at him. "Handled? What do you mean handled?" He really doesn't like the idea of people pitying him or owing anyone either. He can do it on his own.

Sighing, Don runs his fingers through his hair, "And this was the reason why I didn't want to say anything...You don't owe anything on your tuition. Can we just leave it at that, please? I can tell you're upset and I'd rather not see you upset about it...I'm getting even more nervous because of you getting upset..." Turning away he begins putting his dad's share on a plate to cover and put in the fridge in case the show gets done early for a change.

"No. No we can't." Vincent's stubborn side is coming out to play. "Why don't I owe anything?" Even schools have to balance the books. It's not like what he owes can just disappear into never never land or something. "I'm upset because I have no clue on what's going on and I hate feeling like that." He hates feeling like he has no control...especially since now he should have some control.
