I lived in Kansas when I was a wee Katya. I remember hiding in the basement cause of the whirly storms that sucked up everything. It was very flat and got very cold in the winter. I do miss the snow.

So that is what Kansas is like. I've been wondering about that!

It's flat. Lots of farm families. My mother tells me she loved the farming communities. People were relaxed and country-like, but we lived in McPherson which in the late 80's was a smaller town. Not sure what it is like today.

The NW has plenty of mountains. Oregon is pretty and my town is in a valley, so I have access to some plenty of hills and mountainous peaks. :3
