I remember seeing one with a roll-out board under the bottom bed. - like for a playset or something...I don't know why I mention this xD

and the 'ladder' was the desk chair to the desk, and then jump up on to the bed. i think it was only in my second year when the housing peoples decided that really wasn't safe, so we couldn't loft the beds anymore.

I think it's neat.

well, college students. and thursday was party night. too much booze and a lofted bed? that's not going to end all that well...

Ohhh yeah. Reminds me of one young man showing his tiny house. His bed pulled out from under a raised part of the floor. He explained that he didn't like lofts, because he drank.

Also reminds me of reading what one person said about his Navy years and finding guys piled up at the bottoms of the ladders in the ship after the end of leave time.

When my former BFF and I had our beds bunked, we had the room arranged so I could use my desk chair and the window sill to get up to my bed. I'd step onto the chair, then onto the window sill, then finally pull myself up onto my bed, because the ladder hurt my feet.

I had a room mate who was always on...something. He acted like every day was a hangover. Made his own fraternity. Not fond memories.
