@Demonskid I'm not quite understanding your analogy, because "You can have Johnny & Bert come along" and "You can have Johnny or Bert come along" mean the same thing to me in English (although they mean different things in pseudocode) 0__o and I don't really see how it's like choosing?? It's not like water gods don't get the boost at all, which is what I thought you meant at first with your analogy but is not the message I got from your example Johnny/Bert sentence??? I'm so confused lol

If the two types have DIFFERENT modifiers, then they STACK.

Shiva Dragon's text is "Fire attribute cards ATK x2. God type cards ATK x2.5, RCV x1.5."

Fire Gods therefore get 5xATK 1.5xRCV.

See the reason Shiva Dragon states that both fire and god both get the boost and that its clear they do is because the boosts are different

Fire gets x2 where god gets x2.5

thats why its clear on him. o3o i bet if it were the same amount it would be similar to Odin's wording

If they wanted it to be a total of 4x ATK, then they would have kept it as two separate sentences.

With English, the meaning of the word "and" really depends on context xD sometimes I wish natural languages were as straightforward as constructed languages, but at the same time I like seeing all of the complicated stuff about natural languages lol

"Oh yeah, your brother and your sister can come with us to the movies, no problem!"
"Oh, someone invited my sister to a birthday party, so she's not gonna come with us. But I still have to take my brother along."
the response is most likely not "Nope, he can't come along because if your sister isn't coming, then neither will your brother" xD

not really an appropriate analogy anyway since person 1 and person 2 are two separate people and have no overlap (probably); Coda's analogy is much more appropriate
