It's "The actual guide" section walks you through basically the whole ordeal...I don't really remember it.
Battlestone summary: Scratch (I think), Eliminate (Need lots of treasure..), ambush (need less treasure but lots too), berserker (at level 17), elemental might fragments (before level 17)...As for what these stones are, I think DK's Coli guide explains them xD!

That's the guide I used when I was first training up my dragons.
First off, keep hitting refresh until you can start with 3 easy monsters - the mages. That will help you build up your breath before losing it to the fighters.
It will be slower, but fighting in an area one level below your highest level dragons will give you a better edge.
The biggest and best battle stone I've found to date is the Eliminate. It costs an arm and a leg though, but sometimes you luck out and get them from Pinkerton in the trading post or while you are battling in the coli.
I level up dragons with two level 25 fighters that have the battle stones that Duke shows in his second build. It doesn't work in the Golem workshop for me, is OK in the Kelp Fields, but great in the Mire and below.
While you're starting out, you'll probably be using the healing potions a lot. At least I did until I could get Sap for my fighters or Aid for my healer.
Play games every day and try to max out the 75K. You should be able to purchase those expensive stones in a short while and you can keep leveling up your dragons until you can open up those slots for the stones. =)
