I am just a terrible person. Brady's mom left a 4 minute voicemail today. I haven't talked to her aside from a text or two with a picture or something . . . She's not the best of persons. I feel like she is being a little uhm, dishonest with things she has to say about the baby and also kind of like she is hoping we would just give her the baby. She abandoned Brady when he was 6 months old and only popped into his life every now and then. He only told her about the baby because she wouldn't stop calling and asking him to pay her bills for her like her cable or her phone bill or electricity or what have you. I just can't bring myself to listen to the whole voicemail or call her back or anything. I feel super guilty about it but I just really really really don't want too. Should I suck it up and call anyway? It isn't like Brady is calling her either.

Dont, I mean the situation is crap but the fact that she is calling asking for Brady to give her money and now wants you to give her the baby doesn't signal a good home environment. But I think you two should talk about her involvement with the baby, like if you want her there or if you are going to leave the baby alone with her.

we'd never leave the baby alone with her. We lived there for a few months before we got our current apartment and she would fall asleep all over the place with cigarettes in her mouth and what not. All of her blankets had big burn holes in them. One time I walked downstairs and she had fallen asleep sitting on the couch and had slumped foreward so her head was hanging down between her knees. I just wouldn't feel that the baby was safe until she gets over that problem >.<;

but i still feel bad for not calling . . . but i really don't want to listen to her "expert" advice while she doesn't actually listen to anything I have to say. . .

Try to include her on things then but keep it under your control. like "I want to go to the local goodwill and find some baby clothes would you like to come with me?" You are there, you are controlling what is getting done, and maybe you might scrape some money out of her. Also Goodwill and SA are great places for baby clothes cause they hardly are ever used much

well i'll be moving out of state so that won't be a thing i could do, also neither of us have cars haha.
