Default Epiphany #1
I realized something today. I'm really good at writing, but not so much, creating. I can describe things in great detail, but if I have to create the actual original story I just can't. It's a little sad :( I don't know of very many opportunities where someone tells you stuff and you just describe it with magical flourishes (unless... you're the media :x)

...I wish I could help.
Hmm, MonBon, what do you enjoy? Writing seems to be one thing.

Hmm...very well, then. Well, what do you like about fantasy? The creatures? The Magic? Do you like the technique/action of storybook battles, or the idea of light and darkness?

Yeah, that's me. It's a more common issue than you might think. I've taken to looking up lists of writing prompts and working through those. I go through Pinterest but I'm google will find lots.

Here's one that's next on my list, once I've finished my current sheet.
Myth prompts

Thank you! I use prompts sometimes too :) They're fantastic exercises.

The thing that I enjoy about fantasy is the unrealness of it I suppose. You get to describe things that people aren't used to seeing all the time, whether it's different species, animals, creatures, scientific phenomenon, natural phenomenon, magic, new worlds and environments and cultures. The fantasy genre is pretty much the most creative thing I can think of.

My issue is that I sort of go too far in thinking, or don't know enough to make it all fit. (Hard Science Mythology is...hard, and making it appealing to emotion or curiosity and not just a wall of textbook material...) (Also, lose focus, and the current state of things even more so.)

...here's reddit practice.

I'm stuck in one of those moments where I have a wonderful piece of inspiration in my head but I can't think of a darn thing to do with it! Argh!

What philosophy do I apply to an angel that is being petrified over time?
Default #10
Is the petrification painful - like a body being consumed by a disease; numbing, like fighting the urge for sleep; scary like a night terror or anxiety attack; desperate as one tries to avoid it; a peaceful clerical (cleanse the mind) end; or wearing out patience and benevolence through boredom? (or some combination?)

Well that's some stuff to think about. I'm not sure where this petrification stuff is coming from. She could also be un-petrifying herself. Not sure which way to go yet. It would be slow, almost like a fact of life thing, but something that would need to be dealt with from time to time.

"Angel" is really a term I'm using. I'm not really going into serious theology with it, though I could look into that for ideas, too.

So it's sort of like a degenerative disease? You could look into the stages of progression of parknson's, alzheimers, Lou Gehrig (ALS), etc.

No, literal petrification. There are chunks of rock involved. It's a concept I saw on last week's episode of Face/Off on space channel, and I adore it.
