I have been in forced social interactions nonstop for the past 3 weeks.

It was glorious.
And this morning I woke up to the septic tank being backed up into my tub D:

That was one of the worse parts of the day T.T I had to dish out 300 out of pocket to get it "Taken care of" but from now on until people move out we have to have the septic pumped every 3-4 weeks, at about 550-600 a pop T.T

Ummmm Why? (Has has tank and pump issues) Cause if your fill beds and pump are working you only need your tank pumped about once a year to clean it out. If your pump isn't working it needs to be replaced first thing. Also. 300 for a pump is crazy! Our pump out was $125 for both the tank and the holding tank.

Talk Septic to me, I actually know shit.

So the tank is for a 2bd 1 bath house. the previous owners house caught fire and they placed a 3 bd 2 bath modular home.
That is our first problem. BUT because of my mom's previous care of it, she actually never had to have it pumped in over 10 years (ridx every month, no grease or food down the drain, specific septic safe tp ect ect)
WELL WE currently have 7 peoples (5 adults and 2 kids) in the house, which is WAAAAAYYYY more then the septic can handle.
I got pumped before my friend sam came to live with us last year in august. (sam was only there for 4 months, and mostly was elsewhere anyways)
Well last week I started hearing gurgling in the drains, and yesterday morning woke up with poop in my bathtub. Look outside and there is water over the septic tank, and lo and behold every time I flush my toilet the water starts moving. . . . Gross.

SO for the pump, to pay people mom called 3 companies. One quoted us 550 (the one we went with and I payed most of it) another guy quoted her 840, and another 910.

Well, pump guy says "unofficially" he can tell us the biggest fix to our problem will be removing some people from the house, and after a few months the septic will actually fix itself. BUT until we do, we are just going to have the same problem again and again, and it is going to get worse every time.
If I did not want to remove people from the house, my only choice would be to upgrade the septic tank, which the next size up is apparently 15k to 20k in price.



I really don't understand how mom was able to keep it in such nice condition with never having it pumped before, but then again it was only her, my dad and I for most of it, then just her and dad, then just her. 10 of the years was 3 people though.

Social interactions aren't always bad. The forced part doesn't sound fun though :(

So your issue is too much water going through the system and not going to the fill beds fast enough.
Tell people to cut back on how long they shower (10 15 minutes vs 20 to 30) along with using machines (Washing Machine dishwasher) in larger loads instead of smaller ones and using it through out the week instead of all at once. Another thing you can do is put those filled water bottles in your toilet tank to reduce how much water is filled in your tank therefor how much you flush (Or how often you flush if you are good with not flushing when you pee)
I don't know if yours is gravity fed or pumped (Depends on if your fill beds are up or down hill) Another issue maybe the cold because the ground isn't taking the water as easy. Or the hydration level in the soil is too high to take in more water. If you have a pump and it is still filling up then it is likely your pump is failing or the Float valve is placed too high.
Make sure they are pumping both tanks when they do come, you pay for both to be pumped so make sure they both are. But really if it is an over flow of water then that sounds more like your tank isn't doing its job to release the water fast enough.

One of the things mentioned was that since it has been cold and wet it may just be having a problem draining into the field. Not only have I asked them to cut down on all outgoing water (less showers, less dishes and less laundry per day) and to watch out on tp use.
I want to say we have a gravity one, because to MY knowledge I don't think we have a pump in there at all.


One of the roommates that was upset no won't say a single word or look at us, because we made her upset XD
Her anxiety is so bad that when anything starts going wrong she breaks down in tears, gets violently ill and sometimes has to go to the er to calm down.
I can understand having anxiety but sometimes I feel she takes things way too far . . . .
