As long as their data exists, they aren't truely dead. Which is why her face looked slightly hopeful to me. And her data, her memories were in the sword handed to A2.

It's open to interpretation, obviously, so your take on it is just as valid as mine. :P But, personally, I think it makes her death way more powerful if she thought she was never coming back. I took her saying "These are my memories, take care of everything for me, A2" as her hoping after seeing what she'd gone through, A2 would do the right thing and take care of 9S / tell him how much 2B loved him.

Also on that note, though, if they can store their data in their weapons, why the heck did they even need to worry about the storage on the bunker? Or was that more for being able to 3D print new bodies for their minds to inhabit? That's kind of weird, now that I think about it...

Speaking of their bodies, what are they made of? ._.

But yea, I think the whole 'upload data' to the bunker is for them to get new bodies, and for what ever to go through said data to use in the future when making better android models.

I don't actually know, I've heard people on reddit say they're 3d printed though. I'd believe it.

But yeah, I don't get why they bleed. It sure makes for disturbing scenes, though.

Speaking of which. Ending D. It took me a bit to realize 9S's screams of pain aren't just cause he's dying -- he got stabbed with 2B's sword and got all of her memories! He's realizing in his last moments how much she actually loved him. It's so grim, haha.

I can only assume it's cause they were made in the image of humanity. Though... do we know who actually designed the YoRHa androids? If it was Crispin Freeman 2x creepy girl AI, it's possible the YoRHa are similar to Adam and Eve, and made to be as similar to humans as possible while still serving as a evolutionary pressure to the machines.

From what I understood from some of the original NieR info I got and stuff, YohRa androids were made by other androids. The other androids were the ones left behind after humanity died off. Popola and Devola are a pair of the androids from when Humans were still alive, but because of another set of the Popola and Devola Twin units, humans died off.

And from the story we heard from the Twin Units in NieR, there were many different android types left back then. And since those older units were suppose to look, act and seem human while watching over the Gestalt Project, the humans made them to do just that, and that is why the YohRa units seem so human as well.

It's amusing that they have 'allergic' reactions to eating fish.. >w>,


There's also Rumor that the "Machine King of the Forest" is actually a robot from the original NieR game.

As for outside of the game designs, I think Yoko Taro designed them.

Oh, you just reminded me, I've seen a couple people talk about how the "other" model of P&D were responsible for humanity's extinction,
but I could SWEAR in the text adventure part where you learn their story, at the very end it said that there never was any other Popola and Devola, and that they were mindwiped so they'd forget the horrible thing that they'd done. Am I crazy? I guess I should go read it again.

there are other Devola and Popola models but to the 2 in Automata, they are the only ones like themselves. Popola, the main story teller of that said "we are our own person, they are their own person" or something like that when talking about the ones that were responsible.

I think they said something about a wipe and being re-written to carry major guilt or something like that. They were already feeling guilty but the others wanted to make sure that guilt never went away no matter how hard they worked to atone for the other P&D models sins. Or something along those lines.

what message?! D8 I been sick since yesterday and didn't play at all since going for some of the alt joke endings.. I just need emils ending before I go after D and E... o3o

When you're playing as 9S on route C/D going for the different towers/boxes, if you go the Flooded City you can find 2B's crash flight unit, and it has her final message for him recorded on it.

Might want a box of tissues handy if you go listen to it, though. :|
