If by kettle you mean a small pan that fits ramen perfectly then yes.
I mean, I also have a kettle, but I imagine doing hot water over the ramen would take a little longer to cook than boiling it in a pan.

I want to actually get one of the ramen bowl things with a lid (like I saw in Ponyo) to use for making ramen, honestly.

ahhh squid ink... sounds so gourmet and fancy!

Never actually tried it. 85C has some bread that's colored with the stuff, but it squicks me out a bit.

black spaghetti is done with squid ink. it only has a slightly fishy smell to it, but doesn't taste any different than normal pasta.

ponyo is a cute movie. just wish they had actual special features on the blu ray =/

There's also noodles made with black rice. They have a lovely, nutty flavor, and turn dark purple when cooked :3
