I do not 'number' so well, even when the numbers I provided for me. I'm really more posting here because I haven't yet done so.

Instead of numerical measurements when I cook, I'm more of a "bit," "some," "pinch," "glug," person. This surprises me a titch since I used to get annoyed when chefs talked about thing like a "dash" and I had opinions on just what constituted a "dash." It must be my dad's influence. "This thing looks good!" *dump.*

If I know a recipe well and have it cooked two or three times already, I don't use numerical measurements either. My grandma never uses them, even when trying for the first time - that's just how she was taught to cook. And she showed me a few things, so I guess it rubbed off to some extent.

2 more points for tsukiko :P you can anonymously throw surprise coins at unsuspecting users if you really don't need them

Well cooking isn't as precise as baking. I learned from a previous soup attempt that the next time I use Worcestershire sauce, use one less shake. After tonight's pasta, it was still sitting at borderline, so maybe less one shake and a jiggle.

XD I can make biscuits sometimes without any measuring at all. I know how the dough's supposed to feel and smell when it's good. ...Kind of like how I know I'm on the right note in a song by how it feels.
I'm not very active right now, because of stuff. If you don't see me around and you really need to get hold of me, you can yell at me over at one of these places?

My blog.

I'm the total opposite, I need numbers in my recipes or I get totally lost xDDD
