As long as you dont need the US you wont need a passport

so if i were to fly from PA to, say, Texas, my regular, non-realID, PA driver's license would work as proof of who i am?

Actually Hyjin, according to TSA guidelines if you live in a state that doesn't comply with Real ID and you don't have a military ID, you have to use your passport to get on any flight, foreign or domestic. Or at least they will if your state is out of the grace period. There were signs up all over our airport last year
