Dude, whatever gets you off doesn't bother me. I mean... So long as consent is involved. What kind of stereotypes are we talking? I haven't looked too far into the game yet.

I mean lesbians are fetishized too, trans people, basically anything that's taboo or has been taboo in the last couple centuries is fetishized. XD Though I do agree in the sense that it would make for better storytelling if it were written by the people who actually live those lives. Rather than a pinhole perspective of what it must be like to be gay, without actually being it. Then again, that's the problem for a lot of media in general.

(although there ARE a few romance options in DDADDS who are bi, and a couple others break every single stereotype about gay dudes out there, and one of them is 100% the kind of person I’d date if I was actually into the who dating thing.)

Uhh. Gay lumberjack-ish stereotype? Sort of? But he has a kid. Also, the barista dude and your character’s kid’s teacher also hit a few stereotypes.

the most problematic (?) one (to me) might be the LI who’s a youth preacher w a dissatisfied flirtatious wife.

It, hm. The dates aren't exactly "dates" in the typical sense. Like, in the case of the one that I mentioned before, the soccer dad, one of the "dates" is helping him find his baby's lost toy.

And I haven't done the route with the married dude, but iirc, I read online that his "good ending" is him being back together w his wife?

the point of that particular dating option was to show the sort of no-win situation that can happen really, really fucking easily, particularly to younger individuals that are less secure with themselves. i don't see it as problematic because it's not romanticized. it's all sadness and anger and hurt and there's no winning in the same sense as all of the other dates.
