Too bad it's hard to weed out the bad ones without seeing them first.

Yeah I mean, there are 'yelp' like sites, but it's all very personal

That sounds like a smart use of funds. I can throw in some good reviews and say how you went above and beyond by renovating my house or something.

Of course, everyone wants a translator who can also renovate houses |D

Or, you can fix their cars. Heal their ailments.

You don't actually have to do it. The reviews will be extra positive and say you do, to really help you out.

But what if someone wants to hire me specifically to do it?

You'll only have just enough time to do the translating because you're on your way to Africa to rescue baby elephants.

You also solve murder mysteries in your spare time. You even found clues in one of your translations how a widow's husband was murdered. She left a raving review.
