Not sure what the deal with beta items are. But if someone gives you an item that was only available during beta, that's fine. What's not fine is if the beta item was a special item for that time only, and the staff re-release them in common shops for cheap. Kind of takes away the exclusiveness then.

I feel like I'm in the minority where exclusiveness doesn't make things feel any more special.

Bio - Maybe. But I feel the same way too. Wish that it was possible to collect all the items on a site. Sure some times should be more difficult and sought for, but making them near impossible isn't too much fun.

Kitty - you never know. Someone might be crazy enough to give/trade/sell you some!

I understand having items people paid real money for being more exclusive, but yeah, as a general rule sometimes it makes me sad that I missed items simply because I wasn't able to be here.

Eh. If I spend money on the site for an item, I'm ok with it being re-released. As long as people still need to spend money on that item, and not have it turned into the site currency. This gives the site more money, and the users another chance at getting those items at a "cheaper" price.
The only catch is: if an item is said to never be brought back and it is? Then there's a wee bit of an issue.

i don't really get the point of exclusiveness. sometimes the beta items have weird art styles that provide a discontinuity.
