You have all right to be suspicious, because if there's anything worse than getting lost in a maze, it's getting lost in a maze where you can't even rely on proper directions. Those walls aren't moving, are they? You push against a few stalks and heave a sigh of relief when they don't budge at all. As you walk right, you encounter an alien in a blood splattered lab coat. "I saw you conducting physics experiments on that stalk", the alien says. "You're a fellow scientist, aren't you?"

Answer yes, or answer no?

The alien appears reasonably excited to finally have found intelligent life on earth. You only understand a small part of the following conversation - or rather monologue - about high tech equipment, quantum physics, and ribbon theory (which apparently takes string theory to a whole other level by tying those strings into a bowknot). Finally the alien waves goodbye and returns to the spaceship without harming you. Your head is still spinning from this encounter, but nevertheless you realize you're standing in a dead end. So you walk back to the last crossroads.

Go left, or go right?

After catching my breath from getting HECKIN' SPOOPED, I will go straight.

As you walk right, four people come running from that direction. One of them almost knocks you over. Yet since you don't fear a terrible demise, you stroll on. To your surprise you see nothing scary - just a single shoe lying on the ground. Otherwise this is a dead end. You shrug and walk back to the entrance of the corn maze, where you meet those four punks who ran past you a few seconds ago. If you want, you can ask them what happened. Otherwise simply choose a direction to walk back in.

Go straight, or go left?

last crossroads... wait, last time wasn't it straight or right... right got me to the alien and straight was the scream. So now I'm going before that, to when it was straight or left?

I'll go straight!

Not attempting to move any more people around before I've had a good night's sleep, lest I goof a second time. But mdom, you stand at the place you stood when you could go straight (to the scream) and right (to the alien; who would normally have chased you out of the maze but I gave you a 50/50 chance to succeed on the encounter to make up for offering you a "left" when it should have been "right")

Except now you're facing north, whereas when you approached that place from another direction, you were facing east. In conclusion right is where you heard the scream.

o-o huh...who would've thought that corn had such an appetite for being so supportive of digestion and heart health? :} *wanders to the left, thinking too long about corny things*

"Enter the Haunted Corn Maze." And grabs a flamethrower and turns all the corn into popcorn

Straight sounds like a better choice for now, at least you haven't witnessed any people being eaten there. Of course that doesn't mean it's entirely safe, but you cross your fingers and hope the corn maze is already satisfied with one victim. After you walked along a few serpentines, another path opens up to the right.

As you march straight ahead, you can't stop thinking. Did a specific action cause all these tea lights to appear - and if so, can it be repeated? You don't pay that much attention to your path, until you almost bump into Den (who you recognize as one of the scared folks from earlier). Here another path forks off, and you can go right. Or continue straight ahead.

Exploring hungry corn maze must be a lot safer when you're not alone. So you quickly run after Den and bluebird. This gives you roughly a 66% chance someone else will serve as the maze's dinner. Once another path opens up, you think for a while if you can muster the courage to wander off on your own or rather stay with others. Then you decide to...

By now can bet ounces of saltwater this is no regular corn maze, but you're nevertheless confident you will survive. So you head left once more, and after maybe a meter - if at all - reach another path. You still shiver when you look straight ahead your current path, so maybe going right would be the safe choice. Or would it? You think about both options for a moment and then...

What's the best thing to use on a maze full of people? A flamethrower! Everyone loves popcorn after all - can't have a party without it! The corn pops with a satisfying noise when touched by the flame and a shit ton of popcorn...
